DIVISION ONE HANDICAPS TUMBLE

At Freshwater Bay on Sunday 10th February the first four players in Division One all saw their handicaps slashed, Stuart Morris (12) took pride of place ahead of forty six entries by recording 44 points and beating Bill Lavers (13) on the back nine also on 44 points. John Veal (14) finished in third place on count back from Richard Frost (6) with both players carding 39 points.

Division Two went to Chris Boulter off 18 handicap returning a solid 39 points, Dennis Smith (20) took second place with a better back nine from Roger Thomas (18) whilst Richard Couse again off 18 returned 35 points to take fourth place beating Cliff Sanders and David Hartley with the same score.

The following day saw a Better Ball Stableford with a healthy twenty one pair entry, scoring was equally high Paul Gardner and Barry Crook scoring 46 points for first place, second went to Malc Williams and John Burke with 44 while Dick Leppard and John Sexton played the back nine extremely well to card 24 points beating Pete Bryan and Colin Balfour on count back for third spot with both pairs shooting 44 points for the full round.

The Midweek fun competition was a two ball scramble with Club Pro James Veal partnering Rob Jackson to a winning score of nett 61.8 two clear shots ahead of Club Captain Bill Hinchen and his playing partner Tony Keen on 63.6
