Father and Son take both divisions of Sunday Stableford

The CSS in the Mid Week Stableford at Freshwater bay dropped to 66 with Kasey Tuckey (8) taking pride of place with 39 points on count back from Chris Tansley (19) in second and Gordon Day (15) third on 36 points.

Friday saw the inaugural Veterans October Trophy, kindly donated by octogenarian John Hill, the first name to go on the trophy will be John Mew (15) with a solid 37 points, second place went to Ray Cooke (18) with 35 points on count back from 16 handicapper John Davis in third.

Both divisions of the Saturday Medal were won with a nett 65, in Division 1 Steve Cooke (12) was first with John Crosbie (9) second scoring a nett 66 on back nine from Richard Frost (5) with the same score. Division 2 was swept up by Ian Ball (14) with the other 65 whilst second and third places were split again on count back, Richard Couse (16) holding off Dave Morey (15) with both players returning 66s.

The Sunday Stableford was very much a father and son affair with the Mew family picking up first place in both divisions. Father Les (13) took first place with 40 points ahead of Ian Ball (13) continuing his fine run of scores with a 39. Son Stephen Mew finished ahead of fellow 24 handicapper Tony Hammonds to take Division 2, Tony returned 35 points for second place whilst Stephen hit 37 for first place.
