Isle of Wight Golf Clubs

Including Freshwater Bay there are eight golf clubs on the Isle of Wight. Pars range from 58 to 70 and cater for all abilities up to County Championship standard. Many courses welcome visitors and provide hire facilities. There is also a floodlit driving range at the Westridge Golf Centre.

Isle of Wight Golf Clubs

Cowes Golf Club

This is a fairly flat 9 hole, parkland type course. A good way to combine a gentle walk with a good test of golf.

Newport Golf Club

A quite tricky 9 hole downland course where a little local knowledge can be very valuable. Fortunately this is a friendly club where visitors are regularly invited to join members in a round.

Osborne Golf Club

A lovely 9 hole parkland course, set in the grounds of Osborne House, the Island home of Queen Victoria. Mature oak trees dot the course and it is quite common to see red squirrels.

Ryde Golf Club

Another 9 hole parkland course with very little long rough, but an out-of-bounds fence on the right of most holes make it tighter than Osborne.

Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club

An 18 hole heath-land style course, with gorse, bracken and heather producing some excellent and interesting holes. Pro shop and a first class club house.

Ventnor Golf Club

A 12 hole downland course which makes good use of different tees for the second nine holes, making them play quite differently. The course is not easy to find, so you will need a map or good directions.

Westridge Golf Centre

With a driving range and a fairly straightforward 9 hole course, Westridge is an excellent venue for learners and relaxed experts alike.
